Parasol configuratorIn general, all of the Glatz sunshade fabrics are interchangeable, as long as the Glatz range still includes the fabric and/or the model of sunshade in question. Please bear in mind, however, that replacing the fabric may be more expensive than ordering a completely new sunshade. This is because replacing the fabric involves manual labor, and in most cases, can only be completed via a specialist retailer. The retailer from whom you purchased your sunshade is responsible for providing you with the optimum product advice and any possible replacement of the fabric.
Notwithstanding the high technological standards during the manufacturing of the fabrics and their waterproofing, during their use, it is invariably the case that the fabrics can suffer dirty marks or staining. These do not impinge on the quality of the fabrics and are only a source of visual irritation. The stains can often be removed with a cloth, omitting the need for dry cleaning. Avoid clamping and abrasion damage and premature wear due to strong fluttering and flapping of the fabric in the wind. After closing the parasol, pull out all the lengths of fabric individually and completely between the ribs. Wrap the lengths of fabric tightly around the parasol section in layers. Secure the rolled-up lengths of fabric with the tie straps supplied. (The fabric should not flap in the wind). When not in use for long periods or in strong winds, umbrellas should be protected with a protective cover and secured as compactly as possible.
Glatz has fitted braces to the struts. When the sunshade is closed, these prevent the struts from tilting and the sunshade from opening again. This means that it is right that the sunshade does not close completely. The sunshade can only be closed completely with the strap.
It is generally possible to replace roof struts that are broken or defective on all Glatz models. Depending on the model of Glatz sunshade, basic technical knowledge (garden sunshades) or advanced technical knowledge (giant sunshades) is required, however. Glatz recommends the completion of the replacement work by an expert. Please consult the retailer from whom you purchased the product for the appropriate assistance.

Aluminum is an easy-care material. However, dirt should be wiped away with a damp rag and then dried with a soft cloth.
The high-grade steel accessories supplied by Glatz are manufactured with material quality 1.4301 / 304, the industry standard for outdoor articles. However, so that it looks like new, it should be cared for from time to time as is the case with all objects that are continually subject to influences of weather.Although the high-grade steel used is basically resistant to corrosion, small, brown spots can appear on the surface due to the effects of salt or chlorine. They neither affect the durability nor lifetime of the product. It is only a matter of a superficial discolouring, which requires cleaning. The high-grade steel looks like new afterward.
If brown spots appear on the high-grade steel, wipe the surface with a sponge (always in the direction of the surface treatment).

To keep teak looking its best, follow a few simple steps. Clean the wood regularly with a soft cloth or brush and a mild soap solution to remove dirt. After rain, allow teak to dry thoroughly to prevent swelling and cracking. Occasional treatment with special teak oil will help maintain the appearance of the wood. Over time, teak develops a silvery patina that enhances the natural character of the wood and gives it a beautiful, unique look.
Although wood is a strong and weatherproof material, in the winter, Glatz advises you leave your wooden sunshade under cover or indoors. If your storage possibilities are limited, your wooden sunshade requires a Glatz protective cover. Please make sure that the sunshade is dry before you pull over the protective cover.

Wood is a natural product that changes colour over time due to the effects of the weather. Teak normally takes on a typical silver-grey patina, ash becomes darker and eucalyptus takes on a grey-brown colour. These natural changes are typical of the material properties of the wood.

Glatz sunshades are only manufactured using materials which comply with industrial standard for outdoor articles. Notwithstanding the high technological standards during the manufacturing of the Glatz products, wear caused by weathering can occur which it is impossible to avoid. To ensure the greatest possible degree of protection, during the winter months, Glatz recommends storing your sunshade under cover, or if it is left outside, with the use of an original protective cover from Glatz.
