Giant parasols for large outdoor areas
A giant parasol is not only ideal for large outdoor areas, it also provides a modern look with a flat parasol roof, defies wind speeds of up to 115 km/h and reliably protects against sun and rain. Glatz has four giant parasols to choose from with the three Palazzos and the Castello Pro.
Besides size, attractive ergonomics have always been important to Glatz: other priorities include easy and comfortable operation of the parasol and a timeless design. Indeed, easy and quick opening and closing is what sets Glatz giant parasols apart. The patented opening principle of our Palazzo giant parasols allows all three models to open in the blink of an eye with just 9 to 19 turns of the crank (depending on size). Motorised parasols are also available for those who prefer to open their parasols as if by magic. The Castello Pro model can be easily opened and closed using a runner and tensioning lever.
Another advantage – especially in hotels and restaurants – is the high closing height of these models above furniture items. This means that the parasol can be opened and closed without moving tables and chairs.
In addition to design, functionality and equipment, the right size plays an important role. A parasol that is 300x300 cm or 400 cm large, one that is round, square, rectangular or a special shape up to desired dimensions in 5-cm steps: everything is possible, just contact us.
You can easily customise your giant parasol. Not only the size and shape, but also the colour and fixation can be customised to match the shape and colour of the surrounding environment. Just talk to us directly or contact a Glatz dealer who will work with you to configure the perfect parasol.
There is a wide range of original accessories for Glatz giant parasols. We offer fully compatible extras such as lighting, protective covers, motorisation and ground fixations. Heaters, side walls and rain gutters are also available in our delivery range.
Giant parasols from Glatz can withstand maximum wind speeds of 95 km/h up to 115 km/h. However, if you are looking for a parasol for a particularly windy location, then we always recommend a centre-pole parasol that is not too large and has a fixed ground fixation. Side-mast parasols are not suitable for extremely windy locations.
All of Glatz’s giant parasols are only available in corrosion-resistant aluminium.
Aluminium is a very low-maintenance material. Nevertheless, any dirt should be wiped with a damp cloth and then dried with a soft cloth. Dry dirt on the fabric can be brushed off with a soft brush. For heavier stains, a ph-neutral detergent can be used, which should subsequently be rinsed off thoroughly.
Only materials that meet the industry standard for outdoor items are used in the manufacture of Glatz parasols. Regardless of this high technical standard, weather-related wear and tear will occur over time and cannot be avoided. For the greatest possible protection, we recommend that you store your parasol under cover during the winter months and that you use an original Glatz protective cover.
Glatz has been developing and producing parasols since 1895. We have over 125 years of experience with high-quality, long-lasting parasols in different materials. By choosing a giant parasol from Glatz, you are choosing a parasol of Swiss quality that will reliably protect you against the sun, gusts of wind, rain showers and prying eyes.
At Glatz, functionality and design go hand in hand. All giant parasols are aligned with ergonomic principles and guarantee outstanding ease of use that is optimised down to the finest detail. And all wrapped up in a timeless, elegant design.
Wind conditions, space availability and ground conditions are just a few aspects that need to be considered when choosing the perfect wind-proof parasol.
