Large shade yield with side-mast parasols
Side-mast parasols from Glatz – popularly known as cantilever parasols – are particularly well suited for shading tables and lounges, as they function without a central mast and thus provide plenty of shaded space.
Besides a large shade yield through a laterally positioned mast, attractive ergonomics are also important to Glatz: other priorities include easy and comfortable operation of the parasol and a timeless design.
A side-mast parasol – especially a larger model – is only enjoyable if it has been carefully thought out and is easy to use. From a hand crank to motorised solutions with remote control, everything is possible. As the inventor of the cantilever parasol in 1959, Glatz offers both maximum ingenuity and a wealth of experience. No matter which model you choose, they all have two things in common: quality and durability. Glatz has always met the highest standards of material and fabric quality and offered meticulous workmanship, so that you can enjoy your side-mast parasol for many years to come.
Customising your side-mast parasol is extremely easy. Side-mast parasol come in round, rectangular or square shapes. The Glatz parasol configurator enables you to choose your preferred size, shape, fabric colour, fabric quality and fixation method.
All side-mast parasols come with fully compatible extras such as lighting, protective covers, motorisation and ground fastenings.
Your individual needs determine whether a centre-pole or a side-mast parasol is the best option for you. While a centre-parasol is good for shading sun loungers or in locations that are exposed to the windy conditions, such as on the coast or on a rooftop patio, a space-saving side-mast parasol is usually better for a seating area, outdoor lounge or for shading tables and chairs.
The choice between an aluminium and a wooden parasol depends on the ambience in your outdoor space and your personal taste. Aluminium side-mast parasols are suited to both new and old buildings and impress with their timeless elegance, stability and excellent weather resistance. When choosing a product, a useful starting point can be to consult a Glatz dealer near you.
Aluminium is a very low-maintenance material. Nevertheless, any dirt should be wiped with a damp cloth and then dried with a soft cloth. Dry dirt on the fabric can be brushed off with a soft brush. For heavier stains, a ph-neutral detergent can be used, which should subsequently be rinsed off thoroughly.
Only materials that meet the industry standard for outdoor items are used in the manufacture of Glatz parasols. Regardless of this high technical standard, weather-related wear and tear will occur over time and cannot be avoided. For the greatest possible protection, we recommend that you store your umbrella under cover during the winter months or if outside that you use an original Glatz protective cover.
Glatz has been developing and producing parasols since 1895. We have over 125 years of experience with high-quality, long-lasting parasols in different materials. In 1959, we launched the Pendalex model, the world’s first side-mast parasol. By choosing a side-mast parasol from Glatz, you are choosing a parasol of Swiss quality that will reliably protect you against the sun, gusts of wind, rain showers and prying eyes.
At Glatz, functionality and design go hand in hand. All side-mast parasols are aligned with ergonomic principles and guarantee outstanding ease of use, optimised down to the finest detail. And all wrapped up in a timeless, elegant design.
Wind conditions, space availability and ground conditions are just a few aspects that need to be considered when choosing the perfect side-mast parasol.
