Saying goodbye to the Old Grey Lady

I've been working for about.com on a few projects for the last three years, but am leaving today. It's one of the digital properties of the New York Times Company, a most progressive and enjoyable employer.

Most of my time has been with consumersearch.com, which has been quite an adventure. It is a pretty useful site, I must admit, mainly because of the great team behind it. They've attracted top talent in all their departments and it has been a pleasure working with such an intelligent and friendly group of professionals.

It was quite an education in building large and reliable Drupal sites, too. Few Drupal sites have had the amount of traffic the site has achieved. Best wishes to everyone there for continued success.

the yurt arrives

My son Ezra's yurt arrived today, very cool. While technically a "yurt derivative" design, more of an outwardly supported tent, it is pretty darned cool. It was made by Shelter Systems, who have adapted modern materials for a new take on a traditional portable dwelling structure. It is lightweight, strong, and easy to move. Read more »
