The NY Times has a nice article about Basil Wolverton, the illustrator who is truly in a class by himself. Nice slide show too, wish I could make the exhibition in Chelsea to see it in the flesh. He was a superb artist, famous not only for his draftsmanship, but extremely vivid and often disturbing imagination. A true original, whose work had great influence in the underground comix movement.
